RepairPriceLab publishes independent information about car repair costs. This page explains how we create, check and update our content.
Our mission
Help drivers understand what a repair should cost, why it costs that much and whether it is worth doing, before they pay.
Who writes our content
Our content is produced by the RepairPriceLab Editorial Team. We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. Every guide follows a fixed structure: a cost table, symptoms, causes, whether the repair is worth it, ways to save and frequently asked questions. The cost figures are checked against the sources described in How We Estimate Costs.
Accuracy and sources
- We base our figures on public parts prices, labor-time estimates, typical U.S. shop rates and official data such as NHTSA recalls and complaints.
- We link to official sources where relevant.
- We show the date each guide was last updated.
- We never present an estimate as a quote or a guarantee.
Independence
Our content is not paid for by repair shops, dealerships, manufacturers or warranty companies. Advertisers have no say in what we publish. When a page contains affiliate links, we disclose it, and affiliate links never change our cost figures or recommendations.
Corrections
If you find an error, please contact us with the page and the correct information. We review every report and update the guide when we confirm a mistake.
Updates
We review our guides regularly and update them when prices, recalls or other key information change.
